India Safeguarding Manager
Description
- Champion the Groups Safeguarding agenda.
- Support the Group Safeguarding Manager for Asia and the Middle East in the review on a periodic basic of the groups safeguarding policy.
- With the support of the the Group Safeguarding Manager for Asia and the Middle East maintain the reporting structures that provide the senior management team with an overview of significant issues, where these are and how they are being managed to reduce the risk of serious harm to anybody in our care.
- Work with the the Group Safeguarding Manager for Asia and the Middle East and Schools in your area to identify non-compliances that allow line management to be accountable and take the necessary steps to achieve compliance.
- Support the the Group Safeguarding Manager for Asia and the Middle East to maintain an audit regime across your area of schools by carrying out Safeguarding audits in each school, that supports a school’s improvement plan and identifies significant risks both to the school and the group as a whole.
- Support the Group Safeguarding Manager for Asia and the Middle East in providing material that develop schools PHSE programs.
- Provide advice and support to Designated Safeguarding Leads in your area.
- To support schools by advising on the completion of their monthly safeguarding reporting.
- Advise and identify schools training needs, to support the Group Safeguarding Manager for Asia and the Middle East in the development of the schools training strategy and;
- Support where needed the Group Safeguarding Manager for Asia and the Middle East in the delivery of specific in-house training that allows schools to improve their safeguarding knowledge and have the training applicable to their role.
- Work with the Group Safeguarding Manager for Asia and the Middle East and school Human Resources to ensure that all relevant staff have the appropriate safer recruitment training to ensure that the schools recruitment processes are in line with recognised best practice.
- Translation of local training material to Tamil.
- Perform any related task that is assigned.
- To be fully effective, the role requires interaction with colleagues, partners and contractors at a variety of levels, including SLT, management, contractors and consultants.
- Adhere to the Business policies, rules and procedures including, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, all other legislative responsibilities, governance and financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance to the organisation’s Code of Conduct in the delivery and provision of services to staff and the community.
- Fluency in English and Tamil essential.
- Previously worked at senior level as a Designated Safeguarding Leader in a school or equivalent in either a local authority/ government or a multi school business
- International education experience is desirable
